About me

I am an oil and acrylic painter, mostly landscapes. I enjoy creating, and reimagining landscapes as they might have appeared 100-200 years ago.

I began painting later in life than most, through a somewhat circuitous route. I was looking for a hobby as a diversion from my day job. I have worked for 30 years as an audio engineer and film composer for feature films, Pepsi, Frito-Lay, AT&T, Macy's, Nickelodeon, MTV, Netflix, book trailers for Hachette, Random House, and many more.

I had an interest in woodworking, but not enough space to build anything of any size, so I started a bit smaller with wood carving, which I enjoyed greatly. While painting figures I was carving, I decided to buy a canvas and give painting on a flatter surface a try. Something clicked.

Though I enjoyed drawing throughout childhood, I never had any interest in painting. At the time I didn't think I had the patience. But on a whim, I decided to give it a try and loved it. I started watching other artists' tutorials online, reading, and practicing.
